SQ yesterday and today
The Stamic Quartet was founded in 1985. The original make-up: B. Matoušek - violin, J. Kekula - violin, J. Pěruška - viola, V. Leixner - violoncello. Both violinists were born in Havlíčkův Brod, so we have chosen Jan Václav Stamic, native fellow of this place, as a namesake of our new quartet.
The focus of our activity is on string quartets of Czech and foreign composers. In recent times we have also concentrated on other works of chamber music in cooperation with other famous musicians.
